Big thanks....And some mindless entertainment

A great big thank you to all you sweet people for all your sweet comments about my cake. I guess I won't give up just yet. I checked out some great recipe and inspirational cake books from the library yesterday. So we'll see!

In other news I can't decide if being introduced to You Tube is a good or sad thing! Sadly, I have to admit, occasionally when driven by boredom I search through it's video collections. I found this one and have come to the conclusion that no one could be this strange and this person was either paid or really wanted to appear on television. You decide.

Gosh! Sometimes I think I should give up this cake thing or go to school for it. Have you ever been so put off and compelled by something at the same time??? It's like I can't quit it! I am ranting a bit but I swear it's honest. I feel like every cake just gets worse, like it could have been decorated by a grade school student. (No offense to students) So anyway my bil asked me to make a cake for my mil's b-day. I had NO idea what to do. Her kitchen is decorated in a grape motif and she grows grapes, so I guess that's where my mind went.

WANTED: INFORMATION LEADING TO THE WHEREABOUTS OF THIS TOWEL'S RIGHTFUL OWNER

Last week I received a package in the mail from NY. My SIL Lisanne is a thoughtful and creative person who sometimes sends me neat things. For this reason I wasn't necessarily surprised at seeing the package. I was however surprised by the contents of the package. Yes, it was the towel! At first I was a little confused, then out came a lovely card. It explained how the towel was mixed in with her laundry when she was here to visit recently. It was very sweet but the thing is......I'd never seen the towel before that day. I have no idea who this towel belongs to. I've asked different family members and so far no one has claimed it. So if you know me and where in my home around the first week of August, does this towel belong to you??????????

Help! Ideas Needed

I am totally busted, flat broke on dinner ideas!!! I had the worst time today planning meals for this upcoming week. I shop every other Friday and plan our menu the Thursday before. I even consulted my Kraft Foods mags and a couple of recipe sites online. Some of the problem is a picky eater (hmmmm, bet it's not who you think!). If you have any suggestions be sure to leave me a comment.

Cheesecake, Warm Wishes and A Funny Movie

A great big thank you to everyone for all your warm birthday wishes! I had a great day! I did get my cheesecake, yum! (NY style from Casa Grille) All in all it really was a great day which began with breakfast in bed, ended in singing and made me feel loved!
